BIOI was born and raised in the beautiful artist's colony of Laguna Beach, CA.
I'm professionally known as a classically-trained music composer and sound designer for video games and film. I've received "Student Emmy" awards for my orchestral scores, and performed national-prize-winning academic music I wrote for university professors from across the US. In the games industry, I've created music and audio for Hasbro, Crayola, Oprah, Starbreze, and IMAX. So, music is my main thing, but I am passionate about my hobby too: taking beautiful photos! I began enjoying photography as a personal hobby in 2013 when I got my first DSLR to document family life with my new wife. Everything changed when our first child arrived in early 2015, and my lens became forever fixed on my new little muse. I couldn't stop snapping photos of her! We practiced in every season and in all kinds of lighting. Over that year, I developed a love for portraiture and a studio photography approach — pointing a flash at people. Now, I never go anywhere without my off-camera flashes and radio triggers. They hone and define my style. Since the age of twelve I've dabbled in digital found-image art with Photoshop. With regards to manipulating images there's not much I can't do with it. So, I take a special interest in the post-processing of my photos. That's my favorite part—taking a good photo and making it great through artistic editing! I live with my wife, daughter, and new son in Utah, where I compose music and shoot photos and basically live the dream. — Lance |
