I was born and raised in the beautiful artist's colony of Laguna Beach, CA.
Though I am involved with multiple creative pursuits, I'm best known as a classically-trained music composer. I've received "Student Emmy" awards for my orchestral scores, and performed national-prize-winning, peer-reviewed music I wrote for university professors from across the US. So, music is my main thing, but I am passionate about my hobby too: taking beautiful photos!
I began enjoying photography as a hobby in 2013 when I got my first DSLR. Everything changed when our first child arrived in early 2015, and my lens became forever fixed on my new little muse. I can't stop snapping photos of her! We practice in every season and in all kinds of light. Over the year, I developed a love for the studio photography setting — I never go anywhere without my flashes. They hone and define my style.
When I was twelve, I began dabbling in digital art with Photoshop. I've now been using it for 22 years, ever since Adobe introduced "Layers" in 1994. There's not much I can't do with it. So, naturally, editing photos is second nature to me! As such, in the wide spectrum of photography, I consider myself more of a digital photo artist (sounds pretentious enough, right?). Actually, in photog culture, it's meant to have a humbler ring to it than the distinction of "photographer". By this I mean that, though I love to shoot photos, I take a very special interest in the post-processing of my images. That's my favorite part—making your photos look great! Which is why I have fallen in love with portraiture, engagements, and wedding photography. People like to look their best!
I live with my wife and daughter in Utah, and shoot photos wherever I am wanted. Please send me a message and I would love to capture some memories for you.
